A trip down memory Lane – Little Frankie

I am delighted when I am invited back into the life of a family, to celebrate their growth and little new additions. Recently you might have seen a post celebrating Jackie & David’s precious new bundle, Stella (see: A Little Sister – Stella). I got to meet her at only 15 days old, and she is divine. Her ‘big’ brother Frankie is a wonderful whirlwind of energy and smiles at 2 years old now, and after our photo session I felt the need to revisit his photos from I met him – again at almost the same age as I met his sister – a fresh 14 days old. Our session was a relaxed afternoon of following the needs of little Frankie – , sleeping, waking, feeding, nappy changes, and lots of love, cuddles and doting from his Mum & Dad. There is so much more gushing I could do but I’d rather share the images that speak for themselves.

Custom designed wedding album – sneak peek

I am so excited to be sharing this sneak peek of the wedding album we custom designed for Holly & Mike. Holly & Mike were married at the Everglades Gardens & Historic House, Leura, in the beautiful Blue Mountains. The slideshow is designed to give you a sense of how a wedding album custom designed by Over the Moon Photography might look. I am delighted to be working with a talented designer who helps to tell your wedding story beautifully. It took me 2 years of searching to find a designer that was the right fit, and it was worth the wait. We are looking forward to creating some amazing albums for you this year. In conjunction with a leading album printing house your wedding album will be fresh, clean and modern yet still down to earth, hand bound and using natural materials. It will also be carbon neutral.

Most importantly it will be completely unique to you and your story. Your wedding day.

O Perfect Love

Dominic & Joyce traversed the world from Hong Kong to marry in a quaint church in Mt Victoria surrounded by close family and friends. Weddings bring out such joy, love and devotion from family and friends involved, and I love hearing the stories of not only each couple I meet but their family and friends too. Joyce’s parents left China for the first time to be with their daughter on her wedding day. What a moment it must have been for her father to see her for the 1st time.

I love seeing how each couple makes their special day their own, it’s not only in the flowers and dresses, but in the songs they choose that mean something to them, and the powerful choice of words they speak when surrounded with their loving community. Their promises.

Living in Hong Kong and organising a wedding in the Blue Mountains in Australia would be logistically challenging to say the least. Relaxed and trusting, Dominic and Joyce released much of the organising to Dominic’s mother Kristin, who did an amazing job of creating a sophisticated reception that was a sensitive blend of Australian and Chinese cultures.

While guests enjoyed the late afternoon sunshine listening to music, sipping champagne and nibbling canape’s, Joyce and Dominic took a moment to wander through the garden together and reflect on their amazing afternoon, and the commitment they had just made to each other.

As the sun sunk below the horizon and gave way to a clear evening, it became time for more divine food, music and celebration. There are few moments in life when people get to stand in front of their family and friends, and really open their hearts to share the true depth and strength of their friendships, family and love. Weddings are one of them & this was no exception.

A little sister- ‘Stella’

I met little Frankie when he was just 14 days old. And now, 2 years later, I had the joy of being invited back to meet his little sister Stella – at a fresh 15 days old. It is such as magical time to be welcomed into a home, when brand new little person is being welcomed and adored, and everyone is in a little bubble of ‘getting to know you’.

And the skies cleared… Amber & Leigh

After 3 days of constant drizzle and thunderstorms, Amber and Leigh were married on the lawn at the Sydney International Regatta Centre. The skies magically cleared as if on cue and all that rained down was golden sunshine.

There is always a fascinating mixture of energy before the arrival of a bride, excitement with a hint of nervousness. It seems like a long, almost lonely few minutes for the expectant groom, standing there alone when she’s due to arrive, until he gets to smile into her eyes.

Amber & Leigh’s ceremony was full of honesty, friendship, and laughter. With open and giving hearts, they promised themselves to each other in the company of their nearest and dearest.

It’s an honour each and every time to be involved in capturing the love and emotion on a wedding day. Each one pulls at my heart strings in a totally different way.  In their vows and in every part of the lead up and planning of their wedding day, Amber & Leigh were down-to-earth and strong in who they are as individuals as well as  in their life together.

A golden afternoon gave way to a brisk and starry evening full of even more laughter, joy and of course, dancing.

The people that Amber & Leigh are to their friends and family was made so clear through the loving and open speeches, and evident by all of the thoughtful details seen throughout the reception, not for show or out of following a fashion, but out of generosity of spirit. It was truly a pleasure to be a part of.
